GLORIA ALLRED was the keynote speaker at the Bakerfield’s Women’s Business Conference luncheon on Thursday, April 28 at the Rabobank Arena

LOREEN ARBUS presented The Loreen Arbus Focus on Disability Scholoarships to two winning student producers through a major alliance she established between The Academy of Television and Science Foundation, The Alliance of Women in Media and The Loreen Arbus Foundation. which recognizes student filmmakers whose work sheds light on people with disabilities, helps emerging artists gain recognition, and increases visibility for artists with disabilities.

GAYLE TAUBER, Founder of Kashi Company, will be the keynote speaker at the NAWBO San Diego BRAVO! Awards 2011 on Wednesday, May 18th.  Gayle will share her inspirational story of more than 40 years as an entrepreneur in the areas of health and fitness, social responsibility, and preservation of capital.


LOREEN ARBUS received The American Spirit Award from The Caucus for Producers, Writers, and Directors on April 17th in Los Angeles.  Loreen is receiving The American Spirit Award for her philanthropic and professional contributions to the creative community.

LOREEN ARBUS will receive The Gloria Award at The 23rd Annual Gloria Awards: A Salute to Women of Vision on May 19th at The Mandarin Oriental on behalf of the Ms. Foundation for Women.  The Gloria Awards honor women across the country whose commitment and achievements in the areas of social justice, reproductive freedom, and women’s leadership move our society closer to the inclusive and equitable democracy

New member,DR. FRANCES ARNOLD, was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, founded in 1780 by John Adams.  Other new members for 2011 include Bob Dylan, Helen Mirren, Paul Simon and Leonard Cohen. Frances is a Dick and Barbara Dickenson Professor of Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering and Biochemistry at California Institute of Technology.

ROXANNE MAKIN CASON received an award on May 5 at the 10th annual United Celebral Palsy’s “Women Who Cares” Luncheon at Cipriani’s in New York.  Roxanne is the Chair and CEO of Cason Family Foundation which celebrates the accomplishments of women as caregivers, volunteers, and professionals, to benefit United Cerebral Palsy of New York City.

RENEE FRASER, President/CEO of Fraser Communications won the 2011 Comerica Bank Best of Los Angeles Women’s Business Award for Woman of Mentorship.  This business award program, that Comerica and the Los Angeles Lakers partnered to create 2 years ago, recognizes women in leadership and their contributions in Los Angeles County.

LINDA LANG Chairman, CEO and President of Jack in the Box, Inc. has been selected as the “Person of the Year” for 2011 by Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County.

FAYE WASHINGTON, CEO of the YWCA Greater Los Angeles, was honored by the Los Angeles County Commission for Women. Selected as an honoree from the 1st District, Faye was recognized for her career of working to improve the quality of life for women and girls in the Los Angeles area.
